Silvosept Wound Spray is a novel class of non-alcoholic solution using nano colloidal silver technology (80-90 nm). It is suitable for all kind of wounds, easy to use, safe and very cost effective. Colloidal silver can be described as a pure substance whereby microscopic silver is held in suspension by an electromagnetic charge on each particle. Colloidal silver has long been known to be a broad-spectrum antibiotic and is proven to be effective against more than 650 microorganisms.
Silver is incorporated into dressings to manage local infections because of its ability to inhibit bacterial enzymes. Silver dressings differ based on the size, amount of silver, and the time taken for silver to be released into the wound exudate. In Silvosept, the silver is already in its active form which makes the effect much faster and stronger. It is also suitable for all types of infected wounds and for preventing wounds from being infected (manage & prevent).
The mechanism of action of Silvosept is that the Silver Nano particles are potent and broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents due to their extremely large surface area (nano size) which provides better contact with microorganisms present on wound. Nano silver particles inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell wall, respiratory chain enzymes and paralyzing cell division (binds to DNA, preventing DNA unwinding process in cellular replication)
Silvosept is also found to be effective against a wide range of pathogens including bacteria, viruses and fungus, having the ability to inhibit MRSA (Methicillin-resistant SA), mycobacterium spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and also kills Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, HSV-1, H1N1 influenza virus2
